Details on controlling applications with your Hercules STREAM 100

If you have read the manual for your Hercules Stream 100, you probably already know that "The Apps menu lists all apps that output an audio stream recognized by Windows on the user’s computer".
Note: The Hercules Stream Control software will only display applications that are currently emitting sound through the Windows mixer.

Question #1: My application is detected, but the volume change or mute does not work.
It is possible that some applications are only partially declared in the Windows mixer, and that this application is still not influenced by the volume controls.
Unfortunately, it is not possible for the Hercules Stream Control software to change this behavior.
If you have just installed or updated this application, restarting the computer or reinstalling this application can sometimes resolve the problem.
Question #2: My application is outputting audio but is not visible in the Hercules Stream Control.
If your application outputs audio correctly but is not visible in Hercules Stream Control, please check:
- You are running the Hercules Stream Control software on an up-to-date Windows 10 or 11, and in 64bit version.
- That the undetected application is indeed 64bit software and is at its last update.
- That the undetected application is legal software and not hacked/altered. (Any software not signed with a digital signature approved by Microsoft will not be visible)
- You can also check that this application is recognized by the Windows mixer by clicking on “Open Windows audio settings” at the bottom left of the Hercules Stream Control software. If the application does not appear in the Windows mixer, it cannot be detected by Hercules Stream Control.
